C. Murphy of Shreveport and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. McGinty of Winnfield, passed away Saturday evening at 8 o'clock in a sanitarium in St. Louis where she was taken by her parents for treatment 10 days ago. The young lady had made her mark as a brilliant student at the South Highlands school form which she graduated last year and had just fairly entered upon her career at C. E. Byrd High School when stricken with the malady from which she died. Funeral services were held at the family home, 726 East Delaware Street, Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, with interment in Forest Park Cemetery. The active pallbearers were J. D. Barksdale, D. R. McWilliams, H. B. John, David Lide, Dr. Robert Douglas, and Dr. Curtis Williams, Dr. Aline Quiggles, Dorothy Nell Quiggles, Olivia Montgomery, Jamie Fitzsimmons, Emily Ostenbroff, Fannie Hoff, Mary Louise Wheless, Halcyon Holcomb, Lucille Butler, Dot Ford, Genevieve Evans, Jessie Ogden, Louise Noel, Marjorie Brown, Bettie Nield, and Glynn Ellis.
