M. V. Malone, 79, Succumbs

Funeral services for Marcus Van Malone, Sr., of Winnfield were held at 2:30
p.m. Wednesday in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel here with the Rev. Clarence
Bates officiating.

Mr. Malone was retired as maintenance man for Freeport Sulphur Company.

Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Mr. Malone died at 7 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 1973, in a local hospital.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Angie Malone of Winnfield; one son, Marcus
Van Malone, Jr., of Winnfield; five daughters, Mrs. Aline Williams of
Winnfield, Mrs. Murine Foshee of Alexandria, Mrs. Helen Cole of Natchitoches,
Mrs. Melba Ladd of Shreveport, and Mrs. Sallie Steigler of Tioga; two sisters,
Mrs. Jessie Gladdens of Texarkana, Ark., and Mrs. Maude Malone of Prescott,
Ark., 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
