Mrs. Laura C. Peddy Mixon

Mrs. Laura C. Peddy Mixon, age 76 years, 10 months and 13 days, died Monday
morning at about 7 o'clock at the home of her son, Mr. O. J. Mixon of Center
Street.

Mrs. Mixon had been ill for several months but had gotten better and was able
to go from the home of her son, Mr. Clarence Mixon, where she had been living,
to visit another son, Mr. O. J. Mixon and family on Center Street.  She was
stricken Friday and died early Monday morning.

Mrs. Mixon was born in Georgia and moved to this state about fifty years
ago.  She was married to C. L. Mixon and they were among the early settlers
of Gansville neighborhood in this parish.  There were eight children born to
them, four of them surviving: C. R. and O. J. Mixon of Winnfield, A. L. Mixon
of Dodson, and John Mixon of Gansville.

She was buried Tuesday at the Gansville Cemetery near Gansville.  Many
relatives and friends of the family attended from here.
