Nelson Dies At Beech Creek Home Tuesday, March 5th Chris S. Nelson, age 73 and 27 days, died at his home at Beech Creek on March 5th. "Uncle Chris" as he was known by a large circle of friends, was born in Winn Parish on February 8, 1856 and after living a long and useful life was buried with a quarter of a mile of his birthplace, the afternoon of his death in the Nelson Cemetery at Beech Creek. "Uncle Chris" served his ward as police juror for a number of years and in rendering this service he was found to always stand for the progress of his parish and community. In his dealings with his fellow man he was fair, just, and reliable. He was a leader in his community, advising with the old and counseling with the young, winning and holding the respect of all who knew him. He is survived by his good wife, one son, Iron Nelson, and six grandchildren.
