Nelson Rites Held Friday In Urania

Copeland Ray Nelson, 68, of Urania, died suddenly at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, 
January 30, 1974 in Hardtner Medical Center in Urania.  He was a retired oil 
field superintendent and a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gwendolyn Cruse Nelson of Urania; one 
stepdaughter, Miss Barbara Carroll of Bossier City; one son, Michael Nelson of 
Morgan City; three sisters, Mrs. Elaine Gough of Olla, Mrs. Evelyn Fletcher of 
Port Neches, Texas, and Mrs. Louis Jenkins of Winnfield; two brothers, W. C. 
Nelson of Urania and J. D. Nelson of Wascom, Texas, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 p.m. Friday in Urania Baptist Church with Rev. 
Jack Baucum and Rev. Doris Dearman officating.  Burial was in Chickesaw 
Memorial Gardens at Olla.
