>From Winn Parish Enterprise December 30, 1937:

Brother-In-Law of Mrs. Joe Emerson, S. S. Nelson Killed.
Mrs. Joe Emerson left here Christmas day for Hartsville South Carolina, to be 
with her sister, Mrs. T. K. Stewart, who received cuts and bruises in an 
automobile accident in which her husband was killed on Christmas eve.  Mrs. 
Stewart will be remembered in Winnfield as Miss Kate Nelson, sister of Mrs. 
Emerson and Mr. S. S. Nelson.  Mr and Mrs Stewart were enroute from Washington 
D. C. to Hartsville, South Carolina to spend the holidays with his parents.
