Man Enroute To Visit Here Dies In Wreck

A 72 year old Columbia man was killed in a head on collision at Hudson on La.
34 Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m.  State Trooper Dan Page identified the mas as
Sam B. Nettles who was traveling along in a pickup truck.

Driver of the other vehicle, a stake body truck loaded with burlap bags, was
identified as John W. Stevens, 43, Little Rock, Ark.  He was released from the
hospital here after emergency treatment.

Page said Nettles was headed south toward Winnfield to visit his sister, Mrs.
E. R. Dortch of Walnut Street.

The trucks collided is a curve during a rainstorm.

Scene of the crash was near the Welcome Home Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mr. Nettles were conducted in Columbia.
