Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at the Antioch Church, Magnolia, Ark. A native of Columbia County, Ark., Mrs. Newton was the daughter of the late Singleton and Francis Gunnels. She was married to Mr. Newton in 1900, and they moved to Pine Bluff in 1925 from Winnfield, La., where they had made their home a number of years. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Grady and E. J. Newton of Pine Bluff, and Bernice Newton of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Mimmie Maloch, Emerson, Ark., and Mrs. Edna Baker, Magnolia; six brothers, Bill and Grady Gunnels, Emerson; Bob, Tom, Noah, and Jim Gunnels, Magnolia; and five grandchildren.
