Former Resident of Hebron Dies October 1

Miss Altha Newsom, 86, of Grayson, died Friday, October 1, 1971 at Columbia
Heights Hospital after a long illness.

A former resident of the Hebron Community, she was a member of the Hebron
Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hebron Baptist Church with
the Rev. Larry Tradwell officiating.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. J. J. Wade of Columbia; five nieces, Miss
Pearl Newsom of Benton, Ark., Mrs. Odell McCollum, Mrs. Lucille Taylor, and
Miss Lloyce Newsom, all of Grayson, and Mrs. J. L. Holt of Joyce; five
nephews, D. W. Newsom and Waylon Newsom of Olla, Wilbur Newsom of Pineville,
Paul Newsom of Tullos, and Ray Newsom of Benton, Ark.

Pallbearers were Charles Newsom, Sherman Taylor, Ross Dunn, Herman Mayes,
Lantz Arthur, and W. M. Rietzell.
