Friends may visit with the family in the Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, Louisiana, on Friday evening from 5PM until 8PM and on Saturday from 11AM until time of services. Memorial services will be at 2PM, Saturday, December 9, at Southern Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery near Winnfield. David was born on February 4, 1959 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He graduated from Monterey High School and attended Texas Tech University. David served his country in the U. S. Air Force. David loved the Lord and studied his Bible. He enjoyed fishing and fly tying. David had many talents including painting in watercolors, woodworks and making jewelry. He is survived by his wife, Delores of Lubbock , Tx., a daughter, Gillian Dawn Newcum of Lubbock, his parents Linda and Bobby Jarvis of Ransom Canyon, Tx., Curtis and Debbie Jean Newcum of Midland, his grandfather Curtis W. Newcum of Midland, Tx., sisters Deborah Gail Newcum of Victoria, Tx., Casey Newcum of Lubbock, Tx., a brother Dusty Newcum of Midland, Tx., and step-sister Debbie Walden of Lubbock. David was the grandson of Mattie Faye Stewart and Vivian Travers Davis, the great-grandson of Etta Savanna Pepper and Robert W. Stewart, Clennie Mooney and Francis Osborn Davis, all of Dodson in Winn Parish, Louisiana. The family suggest memorials be made to Ransom Canyon Chapel at 87 S.
