F. F. Newman, 69, Succumbs; Rites Tuesday

Floy Franklin Newman, 69, of Joyce, died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 1971 in
Winnfield General Hospital.  He was a native of Red River Parish and was a
school bus driver.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Newman, Joyce; two sons, J. W. Newman of
Ocean Springs, Miss., and R. S. Newman of Hughes, Ark.; two brothers, Irie
Newman of Joyce and Jack Newman of Bernice; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Taylor
of Joyce, mrs. Susie Mae Ray of Willets, Calif., Mrs. Cecil Valentine of
Bridge City, Texas, and Mrs. Hazel Hawkins of Jacksonville, Fla.; three half
sisters, Mrs. Clara Bell Malcomb of Grayson, Mrs. Ruth Newman and Mrs. Marie
Ingles, both of Joyce; his stepmother, Mrs. Lula Newman of Joyce; 13
grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Southern Funeral
Home with Rev. Jimmy Yocum and Rev. Jeremiah Jenkins officiating.  Burial was
in Union Cemetery here.
