G. Newman Saturday Services Conducted by Dr. B. C. Land At Home of Daughter Mrs. M. G. Newman, 56 years of age, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Eagles, Saturday morning at 12:25, after an illness of several years. Funeral services were conducted at the home Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock with Dr. B. C. Land, pastor First Baptist Church, in charge. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mrs. Newman was born March 11, 1870 in Louisiana. She had been a resident of Winnfield since 1913. She joined the Baptist Church at Old Bethel near Hall Summit, La., at the age of 14 years and was a regular church goer until bad health prevented. She never failed to read her Bible daily. Surviving are three sons and three daughters: Mrs. Boyd Garris and Mrs. Ray Eagles, Winnfield; Mrs. J. M. Parrish, Springhill; J. W. and W. P. Newman of Sarepta and C. D. Newman of Woodworth, La.; one sister in law, Mrs. D. C. Reeves of Hico and 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
