J. M. Norred, 80, is Dead, Stricken When On Visit to His Son

J. M. Norred, age 80, died at the home of his son, R. A. Norred, of Dodson, at
3 o'clock Sunday morning, Dec. 15.  The funeral services were held on Monday,
Dec. 16 at 3 o'clock, from the Nazarene Church of Jonesboro, with Mrs. J. A.
Pruitt, the pastor, officiating.

Mr. Norred was sick only a few hours.  He had gone to the home of his son in
Dodson for a few days' visit, when he was overtaken by death.

Mr. Norred was born in Alabama and moved to Jackson Parish 60 years ago and
has resided at Hodge and Jonesboro ever since.  He is survived by three sons
and two daughters, W. L. Norred of Hodge, R. A. Norred of Dodson, Jas. W.
Norred of Toro, La., Mrs. A. H. Clayton of Jonesboro, with whom he had made
his home for many years, and Mrs. Amanda Hennington of Memphis, Tenn.

Interment was in the Hodge Cemetery in charge of Edmond's Funeral Home at
Jonesboro.
