A. Norred, Sr., Succumbs; Burial Friday At 2:30 P.M. R. A. Norred, Sr., of Dodson, Route 1, who would have been 85 years this coming October 7, died Wednesday night in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Church of God. Mr. Norred had been prominent in farming and in civic and religious affairs of the parish. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the Highway Chapel Church of God, just north of Hodge, and burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery nearby. The body will remain at the family home until time for the funeral. Officiating at the last rites will be Mr. P. P. Greson, church minister, the Rev. Dell Durand, and the Rev. L. M. Waldron. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dora Stringer Norred, Dodson; six sons, Earl of Shreveport, Cedric of Dallas, Newton of St. George, S. C., David of Oak Grove, Clayton of Dodson, and Paul of Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Molly Hennington, Memphis, Tenn., and eight grandchildren.
