Odom Buried Here Sunday Died Five Weeks After Her Husband Was Laid To Rest The last rites for Mrs. W. P. Odom, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hattie Jones, Shreveport, Saturday, May 25, were held at the Winnfield Cemetery Sunday afternoon. The Rev. A. H. Cullen, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated. Services were held in Shreveport before the remains were conveyed to Winnfield. Mrs. Odom was 83 years old on May 18, 1929. She was ill about six weeks before her death. Funeral services for her husband, W. P. Odom, 85 years old, were held here five weeks previous to her own. Mrs. Odom was born in Union Parish, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Jones. She became a member of the Baptist Church at an early age. She was married to Mr. Odom in Farmerville, La. They lived in Ellis County, Texas before moving to Winnfield in 1903. In 1923, Mrs. Odom with her husband went to Alexandria where they lived for three years, after which time they made their home in Shreveport. Mrs. Odom is survived by three children: J. P. Odom of Alexandria, Mrs. Hattie Jones, Shreveport, and Mrs. Irene Millican, Fort Worth, Texas.
