P. Odom Confederate Veteran Is Laid To Rest In Winnfield Cemetery; Lived Here 30 Years Funeral services for William Pitney Odom, 85 years old, Confederate Veteran, who died in Shreveport Saturday were held at the Winnfield Cemetery Sunday morning. The Rev. A. H. Cullen of the Baptist Church officiated. Mr. Odom lived in Winnfield thirty years. He was born and reared at Farmerville. He spent most of his life in Louisiana, and at the time of his death was residing in Shreveport. Mr. Odom served with the Confederate army throughout the war. He enlisted in the Twentieth Louisiana Volunteers and was later transferred to the Thirty-sixth Louisiana Regiment. Surviving him are his wife and three children, J. P. Odom, Alexandria, Mrs. Hattie Jones, of Shreveport, and Mrs. Irene Milican of Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Odom were married sixty-five years ago. Mr. Odom was well known in Winnfield where he has many friends who are grieved over his death.
