Odom, Former Winnfield Citizen Dies In Shreveport Funeral Services Held Here Sunday. Was Confederate Veteran Funeral services of William Pitney Odom, 85 years old, Confederate Veteran, who died at his home in Shreveport last Saturday were concluded here followed with interment in the local cemetery, Sunday morning at eleven thirty. Mr. Odom was a citizen of Winnfield for thirty years, moving from here to Alexandria several years ago and from there to Shreveport where he resided at the time of his death. He was a native of Union Parish, near Farmerville. Enlisting in the 28th Louisiana Volunteers during the Civil War, later was transferred to the 36th Louisiana Regiment, Mr. Odom in the Army of the Confederacy served until the close of thye war. Surviving Mr. Odom are his widow, to whom he was married sixty five years, three children, J. P. Odom, Alexandria, Mrs. Hattie Jones of Shreveport, and Mrs. Irene Millican of Fort Worth, Texas.
