W. Oglesby Called By Death Sunday Morning Mrs. Carrie Emerson Oglesby, 62, wife of Judge R. W. Oglesby of Winnfield, died at her home here Sunday morning. She had been in ill health for a number of years. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Winnfield Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by Rev. Hysell, local pastor, who was assisted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian minister. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Selenger Walsh of the U. S. Navy, Captain Bobby Byrnes of the Army Air Corps, Allen Anderson, who serves in the Army, and George Williams, William Ward, and P. Hugh Mercer of Winnfield. Mrs. Oglesby was born at Boliver, Tenn., in 1881. She resided in Winnfield for many years as she moved here soon after her marriage. She was a devoted member of the Methodist church, and was noted for her kind manner and Christian life. She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Miss Alice Stewart Oglesby of Winnfield, Mrs. Harry Gist of Natchez, Miss., and Mrs. Nagel Layton Long of Corning, N. Y.; one son, Jack Oglesby, who is in foreign service with the U. S. Navy; three sisters, Mrs. O. M. Grisham of Monroe, Mrs. Edgar Galloway of Boliver, Tenn., and Mrs. B. H. Singletary of Baton Rouge; and one brother, Frank M. Emerson, who is serving in the U. S. Navy in Maryland.
