Oliver Dies Of Heart Attack In Local Drug Store Charles Griffin Oliver, 73, night marshal for the Town of Winnfield, dropped dead in a local drug store Friday night, January 26, 1945, at 8:30 o'clock while waiting for medicine. Mr. Oliver had left his job earlier in the night because of illness and had gone to see a physician. A native of Lincoln Parish, Mr. Oliver was married to Miss Annabelle Andrews in Vienna, la., in 1906 and they moved to Winnfield in 1909 where they resided until her death about eight years ago. Since that time Mr. Oliver has divided his residence between Winnfield and Shreveport where his daughter, Mrs. Henry Endom, lives. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the First Baptist Church with Rev. H. H. McBride and Rev. Alwin Stokes in charge. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were R. W. Buce, Wiley Hammons, Bob Smith, Byron Jackson, Alfred Walker, W. U. Drewett, and W. H. Baker. Mr. Oliver is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Henry Endom, and one granddaughter, Jeri Endom, 8 years, of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Willard, Monroe, La., Mrs. Mollie Autrey Bennett, Dubach, La., and Mrs. H. H. Bittick, Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers, M. W. Oliver of Bloomburg, Texas and L. B. Oliver of Shreveport.
