W. L. Owens, 88, Succumbs; Rites Held Wednesday

William L. Owens, 88, of Winnfield, died Monday, August 10, 1970, at 9 p.m. in
a Winnfield hospital.

Born in Covington County, Mississippi, he was a retired carpenter and a member
of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Miss Lorene Owens of Winnfield and several
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Southern
Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Cox officiating.  Burial was in Winnfield
Cemetery.

Pallbearers were R. C. Byrnes, James Watts, G. E. Brewton, Don Walsh, Harper
Terrill, and Dudley Shell.
