Peters held Wed. Benjamin A. Peters, 78, of Winnfield, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 1968 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. A native of Winn Parish, he was the son of Sara Wallace and Williams S. Peters. Mr. peters worked for many years as right of way agent for Brown & Root and E. H. Schmidt and as land man for Stanoline. He also worked with the U. S. Government as land acquisition agent at Barksdale Field. He retired in September of 1960, coming to Winnfield to reside. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 Wednesday in Southern Funeral Home chapel with Rev. W. R. Gage and Rev. Jack S. Winegart, nephew of the deceased, officiating. Interment, under direction of Southern Funeral Home, was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. Survivors include his wife, Audrey S. Peters; two brothers, W. H. Peters, Winnfield, I. N. Peters, DeRidder; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Fox of Winnfield and many nieces and nephews.
