All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 18, 1971 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Winn Native Dies; Rites Held In Quitman Funeral services for former Louisiana AFL-CIO district vice president Isaac Blanchard Peters, 59, of Quitman, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Quitman Baptist Church with the Revs. Roger Johnson and Leo Beck officiating. Burial was in Quitman Cemetery. Mr. Peters died Saturday, February 13, 1971 in Lincoln General Hospital of Ruston following a long illness. A native of Winn Parish, he resided in Quitman and was employed by Continental Can Co., for 35 years. Mr. Peters had been president of Local 479 of the United Pulp Wood and Sulfite Workers Union for many years. He was also a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Fae Peters of Quitman; two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Bracy of Little Rock, Ark., and Miss Barbara Peters of Quitman; five sisters, Mrs. Myrtis Boyett of Monroe, Mrs. Clarice Swayze of Winnsboro, Mrs. Artie Martin of Weston, Miss., Mrs. Floy Harbour of Baker; two brothers, Garland Peters of Crowville and L. F. Peters of Shreveport; and two grandchildren.
