Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Shreveport for James S. Peters, 88, of 4639 Westwood Park, who died Saturday morning in Confederate Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Officiating was Dr. A. T. Pilgreen, pastor of Parkview Baptist Church. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. A 50 year resident of Shreveport and a native of Winnfield, Mr. Peters was a retired attorney. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. L. M. Collins of Shreveport and Miss Augusta B. Peters of Washington, D. C.; and three brothers, Horace Peters of Winnfield, Newt Peters of DeRidder, and Ben A. Peters of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs. Sam Fox of Winnfield; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Dr. Wilson Peters, William W. Hagood, Kenneth B. Medlock, Mark Medlock, Roger Semon, and James C. Collins.
