He was born in Alabama on Christmas day, 1847, and moved to Winn Parish in Louisiana from Birmingham, Alabama about fifty years ago. He was married to Miss Elizer Oliver on February 10, 1874. Of this union there is one daughter, Mrs. Henreietta Wright, of Crowville, Louisiana. His first wife lived only a few years after their marriage. On January 6, 1891, Miss Mellissa Sanford became his wife. Seven children born to them, all of whom remain with their mother to mourn their loss. Wiley, of Pollock; Stephen, of Port Arthur, Texas; Daniel, Henry, Mrs. J. T. McDaniel, Mrs. Mary Gorham, and Miss Thelma, all of Winnfield. Mr. Page united with the Methodist Church in his youth, and was a faithful member throughout his years. His funeral services were conducted Friday morning the twenty-seventh of November, by Rev. P. M. Caraway, in the Shady Grove Methodist Church, and his body was laid to rest in the cemetery there. He left to his widow and children the rich and noble heritage, which is more to be desired than great riches-a good name, and the memory of an upright, honorable character.
