H. Parrish Succumbs March 19 Following Stroke Last rites of Mrs. Ina McFarland Parrish, 56 of 904 East Lafayette Street, Winnfield, who died in a Winnfield hospital early Tuesday morning, were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, with the pastor, Dr. W.L. Holcomb, officiating. Burial was in the Zion Hill Cemetery under direction of Hixon Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were R.E. Allen, Louie James, Marvin Harrell, H.V. Danford, Willard Harlan and Joe Burns. Mrs. Parrish, a native of Winn Parish, suffered a stroke at her home some time Monday morning. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and of the Church missionary society. Surviving are her husband, G.H. Parrish, Winnfield; two sons, Melvin N. Cockerham, Chicago; James Cockerham, Stigler, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. C.R. Daily, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. John E Cox, Shreveport; two brothers, Ed McFarland, Georgetown, Jack McFarland, Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. F.D. Carraway, Winnfield; Mrs. Elba Wheeler, Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. Jim Box, Goldonna. Also surviving are nine grandchildren. (Footnote added: Ina E. McFarland, Mar 27 1900 - Mar 19 1957.
