Funeral Services For Sikes Native Held October 3

Funeral rites for Allen B. Parker, 48, of Sikes, were held at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 3, at Sikes Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie James
officiating.  Burial was in Sikes Cemetery.

Mr. Parker, a carpenter, died late Thursday night in a New Orleans hospital
after a long illness.  He was a native of Winn Parish and a World War I
veteran.

Survivors include a daughter, Miss Mary Ann Parker of Winnfield; six sisters,
Mrs. Rose Willis nad Mrs. Lena Emmons of Sikes, Miss Nelle Parker and Miss
Geneva Parker of Shreveport, Mrs. Irma McGlothin of Dallas, and Mrs. Everett
Moore of Orlando, Fla.

Pallbearers were Marshall Adams, Stanley Branch, Almon Antley, Sharon Parker,
Earl Usrey, Woodrow Fordham.
