Mrs. Payne, 73, Formerly Of Dodson, Dies

Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Payne, 73, of Jonesboro, formerly of Dodson,
were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home of
Jonesboro, with the Revs. John Reynaud and J. O. Payne officiating.

Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Payne died Monday night at Jackson Parish Hospital after a lengthy
illness.

Survivors include one son, C. B. Payne of West Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Paul
Weinhold of Southgate, Calif.; three brothers, Lesso Smitheron of Farmerville,
Elzie Smitheron of Lake Providence, and Dawson Smitheron of West Monroe; four
sisters, Mrs. D. W. Maxwell of Jonesboro, Mrs. Ardie Morris of Lufkin, Texas,
Mrs. Nellie Warner of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Edith Noah of Jonesboro; eight
grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
