Roy Payne

Funeral Services for Joseph Roy Payne, 66, of Winnfield, were held at 10 a.m.
Tuesday in Southern Funeral Home Chapel here with the Rev. W. R. Gage and
the Rev. H. D. Smith officiating.

Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery at Shreveport for Mr. Payne, who died
Sunday, February 12, 1978 in the local hospital after a lengthy illness.

A native of Dodson, Mr. Payne was a member of the Methodist Church.  He was
the former owner of Curtis Park Drug and Bossier Drug Center from 1945 to 1959
when he moved to Winnfield where he was a long time employee at New Winnfield
Drug.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lazell Payne of Winnfield; one son, Ronnie
Payne of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Soule Richardson of Monroe, and two
grandchildren.
