Payne, Dodson, Claimed By Death Friday Morris R. Payne, 53, a lifelong resident of Dodson, died early Friday morning as a result of a heart attack. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Dodson Methodist Church and interment was made at the New Hope Cemetery on the same day. Rev. Kilpatrick, Methodist pastor of Dodson, and Rev. Harvey B. Hysell, Methodist pastor of Winnfield, conducted the services. Edmonds' Funeral Home of Jonesboro was in charge of the burial. Pallbearers were B. M. Feazell, Wesley Johns, Herman Scott, H. R. Sylvest, A. L. Mixon, and Albert Waller. Mr. Payne, whose immediate family is dead, lived at the home of his cousin, Miss Zella Gaar. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joel T. Payne. For many years he has been reporter of the Dodson news to the Winnfield paper and the Shreveport and Alexandria dailies. He was at one time employed as storekeeper by the surplus commodity project in Winnfield. His nearest surviving relatives: Nieces: Mrs. L. L. Jones, Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. J. B. Milam, Jr., Ruston; Mrs. G. W. Smith, Alexandria, la.; Mrs. Conley Terral, Dodson. Nephews: Verne Smith, Tullos; Stanley Smith, Winnfield; H. F. Smith and Harold Smith of the U. S. Army.
