Mrs. Pender, 41, Dies; Rites at St. Maurice

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Maurice Methodist
Church for Mrs. Jewel N. Pender, 46, of St. Maurice who died Wednesday
morning, July 2, 1975 at her residence in St. Maurice after a lengthy illness.

Officiating were Rev. Johnny Vails, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Tingle.

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home
of Winnfield.

Survivors include her husband, Pete Pender of St. Maurice; three sons, Richard
Knighten of St. Maurice, Ray Pender and Ricky Pender, both of Montgomery; one
daughter, Mrs. Julia Doyal of St. Maurice; her mother, Mrs. Florence Edwards
of St. Maurice; one brother, Julius Knighten, Jr., of Shreveport; and seven
grandchildren.
