All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Luther Pennington Killed By Bandits Be Buried Today Funeral services for Luther Pennington, age 51, who was killed in Nicaragua by bandits, will be held in Goldonna this afternoon at four o'clock. Mr. Pennington at one time lived in Winnfield and later moved to Garyville where his family now resides. He left the States a few months ago to go to Nicaragua in the employ of the United Steamship and Fruit Company as a timber estimator. Information reached here that he was killed by bandits on April 11th and that his body was not found until the 18th. As soon as possible it was shipped by way of New Orleans and will reach Goldonna this afternoon. Mr. Pennington was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife and five children, Dan, Ruth, Jack, Helen, and Donald, father, Joseph L. Pennington of Crossett, Ark., two sisters, Misses Ina and Nina Pennington. Mr. Pennington is the brother in law of J. M. Madden.
