W. Perdue, 91, Retired Jeweler, Dies Wednesday J. W. Perdue, who would have been 92 years old if he had lived until his birthday, December 13, 1967, died at his home at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 1967. A native of El Dorado, Ark., Mr. Perdue came to Winnfield in 1902 and opened his jewelry store, which he managed until five years ago when he retired. He enjoyed the best of health until his sudden passing. Mr. Perdue was a member of the First Baptist Church and of the Woodmen of the World. Funeral services have been set, tentatively, for 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. C. C. Martin and Rev. W. R. Gage officiating. Burial will be in the Winnfield Cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Jessie Clyde Perdue and Mrs. A. T. Drewett, Jr., both of Winnfield; one son, Bruce Smith Perdue of Kenner, La., and two grandchildren.
