F. Peters Dies Tuesday A. M. Following Stroke At Home Of Daughter, Mrs. D. F. Shell, When Stricken Monday Mrs. Lourana Fletcher Peters, age 86, the last member of the original Peters- Fletcher families of this section died early Tuesday morning of this week following a stroke on Monday. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the First Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. H. H. McBride, pastor. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mrs. Peters was the widow of the late A. S. Peters, who died in 1919, and the daughter of the late William and Jane Tullos Fletcher, pioneer residents of the Beech Creek Community in Winn Parish. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Surviving her are seven children, four sons, Luther Peters of Flat Creek, Dr. Alcee Peters of Monroe, A. Wayne Peters of Kingston, Tenn., and Dennis Peters of Pineville; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Dunn of Baton Rouge, Mrs. A. A. Hammons of Ruston, and Mrs. D. F. Shell of Winnfield, and a number of grand and great grandchildren.
