Mrs. I. A. Peters Is Laid To Rest In New Hope Cemetery

Funeral services for Mrs. I. A. Peters, 65 years old, who died at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. H. E. Harlan, of Pelican, La., Tuesday, were held from the
home of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Hammons, of Dodson, Wednesday afternoon, the
cortege going to Hew Hope Church, where the services were conducted by Rev. L.
W. Smart of Pelican, assisted by the Rev. I. A. Patton of Monroe, and the Rev.
L. P. Moreland of Bernice.  Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery.  The
floral offerings were many and beautiful, and a large number of sorrowing
relatives and friends attended the last rites.

The deceased was the wife of the late I. A. Peters, and was before her
marriage Miss Helen Payne.

She lived with her family in Dodson community from 1914 to 1920.  She was a
member of the Methodist Protestant Church, having joined at the age of
thirteen years and was a consecrated Christian.  For eleven years she was
an invalid, having suffered a stroke of paralysis.

Surviving the deceased are two sons, I. A. Peters of Crowville, and J.
Paul Peters, of Shreveport; and four daughters, Mrs. A. A. Smith, Summerfield;
Mrs. H. E. Harlan, Pelican; Mrs. T. W. Hearn, Shreveport; and Mrs. E. Boyett
of Sarepta.

Those from Winnfield attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Horace
Peters, Mrs. Clayton Taylor, and Mrs. R. L. Lewis.
