McLure, nephew of Mr. and Ms. J. K. McLure of Winnfield. His home is Houston, Texas, and his mother is Mrs. Ruth C. Horton of that city. A Winn Parish boy also lost his life in the same crash, Private First Class Curtis D. Peterson, son of Mrs. Velma Brunson Peterson of Goldonna. The plane crashed while on a routine flight near Montgomery, Texas, in a low swampy area, and the accident was reported to Ellington Field, Houston, the cause of which is being investigated by army officials. No. 2 Final Rites For Pfc. C. D. Peterson Held Friday P. M. Victim Of Crash Of Training Plane From Selman Field Funeral services for Pfc. Curtis D. Peterson, who was killed in the crash of an AT-7 training plane Sunday, August 29, were held at Antioch Church in Ward 10 Friday afternoon of last week. Pfc. Peterson was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Eben Peterson of Ward 10 and the grandson of Mrs. Fannie Peterson. He had been in U. S. armed service for approximately one year, stationed at Selman Field at Monroe. The plane crashed while on a routine flight near Montgomery, Texas.
