Hines H. Peters Dies; Rites Held Thursday

Hines Heard Peters, 79, of Winnfield died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 1977
in a local nursing home here.

He was the son of the late Dr. J. J. Peters, prominent pioneer physician and
Ms. Minerva Stacey Peters of Winnfield.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. A. B. Cox and Mrs. Florence Simington,
both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Avice Collier of Baton Rouge; two nephews,
John J. Peters, Jr., and Gordon Peters of Winnfield and a niece, Mrs. C. W.
Payne of Midland, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Southern
Funeral Home here with Rev. Calvin Phelps officiating.  Burial was in the
Winnfield City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Peters, Jr., Gordon Peters, Gene Porter, Kelly Fannin,
Benny Long, and Dennis Shell.
