Ike Peters, 72, Dies; Rites Held Sunday

Ike Peters, 72, of Route 2, Pineville, died at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 3,
1976, in a local hospital.  He was a retired superintendent with Pineville
Gass Co. For 35 years.  A former resident of Winnfield, Mr. Petes was a native
of Winn Parish having been born and reared in the Beech Creek Community.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Steen Peters of Pineville; two sons,
Doyle Peters of Pineville and Donald Peters of Mesquite, Texas; two daughters,
Miss Ethel Lea Peters and Mrs. Virginia Provence, both of Winnfield; one
sister, Mrs. Clarence Jenkins of Winnfield; his mother, Mrs. Myra Higdon
Peters of Winnfield; seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers,
Pineville, with Dennis Falb and Luther Raine officiating.  Burial was in
Forest Lawn Cemetery.
