A. C. Peters, 86, Retired Negro Teacher, Dies

A. C. Peters, Sr., 86, retired Negro school teacher, died at his home in
Hatfield at 6:30 p.m. Sunday March 11, 1962.  With 38 years of teaching to his
credit, Peters retired after his 1946-47 term in profession.  He was the first
teacher in Winn Parish to retire under the Teacher Retirement Act.

Funeral services will be at 12 o'clock Saturday, March 17, at the Morning Star
Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barby Conley Peters; five sons, four daughters,
17 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.
