Former City Marshal, W. H. Peters, Dies

Funeral services for Horace Peters, 83, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the
Southern Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Robert Gage officiated.  Burial was in
the Garden of Memories.

He died unexpectedly Friday, August 30, 1968 at his home here.  He was a
lifelong resident of Winn Parish, a member of the Winnfield Masonic Lodge and
a member of the First Baptist Church.  He was a retired foreman for the
Louisiana Highway Department and was Town Marshal for many years.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Sam Fox of Winnfield, and one brother, I.
N. Peters of DeRidder.

Masonic graveside rites were held with members of the Winnfield Masonic Lodge
serving as pallbearers.
