Peters, prominent Winn Parish and Louisiana attorney, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 1972, in the Winnfield General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Peters was a native of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and prior to her marriage was a school teacher in public education. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Benjamin English officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Surviving are two sons, John J. Peters, Jr., and Gordon C. Peters, both of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Payne, and one grandson, John W. Payne, both of Midland, Texas; one brother, Gordon Cummings of Monroe.
