Pine, of Wyatt, Died at Jonesboro Sept. 5 John Washington Pine, 67 year old Wyatt resident, passed away at a Jonesboro clinic on Friday, September 5, 1947. Funeral services were held at the Gansville Church at 3 p.m Saturday, September 6, with the Rev. McKnight, Methodist minister of Jonesboro, officiating. Burial was in the Gansville Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Prior to the funeral services the remains laid in state at the Hixson Funeral Home here. Mr. Pine was born in Clark County, Alabama, on August 28, 1880, and moved to Louisiana many years ago. He had been a resident of Wyatt for several years. He is survived by six sons, Lamar, John, Jr., Edwin C., Marvin, Ray, and Caulton; two daughters, Mrs. Lela Reynolds of California and Ollie Mae of California; two sisters, Mrs. Annie O'Malley of Wyatt and Mrs. A. Hearn of Jonesboro; and two brothers, David Pine of Wyatt and L. F. Pine of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.
