Funeral Rites For Mrs. Joe Pirkle Held

Docia A. Pirkle, 72, of Dodson, died Monday July 1, 1968 in the England Air
Force Base hospital after a short illness.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Pirkle, of Dodson; two stepsons, Joe M.
Prikle, Winnfield, and Taylor Pirkle, Natchez, Mississippi; one step daughter,
Margaret Shumake, Atlanta, La.; three brothers, Denver Cryer, Maryville, Dover
Cryer, Tioga, Dawson Cryer, Alexandria; one sister, Mrs. Dora Jenkins, Baton
Rouge; 13 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and four great, great
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sardis Baptist Church with
Rev. Ernest Evans and Rev. C. W. Jones officiating.  Burial was in Sardis
Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.
