Davies Source: Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Date: 20 Jun 2004 January 19, 1961 Negro Woman Dies Of Heart Attack While In Her Car Death by heart attack claimed a 49 year old Negro woman here early Wednesday morning as the car she was driving veered into a ditch near the corner of Lafayette and Jones Street. The victim, Ruby M. Posey, Hatfield Quarters, was rushed to a local hospital when her car dropped into the five foot ditch in front of the Huey Long Trade School about 7:55 a.m. She was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigating officers said the fatal coronary probably occurred before the accident. She was lone in the vehicle. Skid marks from braking would have shown, they said, had she been conscious when leaving the road. State troopers and city police indicated the woman probably started to turn south on Jones from Lafayette, then passed out. Damage to the car, a 1956 Chevrolet sedan, was light. She was employed in the kitchen at Pinecrest School and is survived by her husband, Johnny Posey. There were no children. ======
