D. Matthews Rites To Be held Friday In Calvin Mrs. Pearl Lowe Matthews of Cumberland, Maryland, died of a heart attack in that city at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. She previously had suffered an attack last summer. Mrs. Matthews was born and reared in the Calvin Community and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Lowe. For 25 years after her marriage she resided in Ft. Worth, Texas, and for the past two years has been a resident of Cumberland, Maryland. Mrs. Matthews' body has arrived at Hixson's Funeral Home, Winnfield, where it will remain until time for the funeral services which have been scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Calvin Baptist Church, Rev. T. E. Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bolton-Teagle Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers. Acting as pallbearers will be Harper Terrill, Reggie Gates, George Walker, and Leon Carpenter, all of Winn Parish, and Cecil Summers of Ft. Worth, and George Zubrod of Houston, Texas. Surviving are her husband, C. D. Matthews, and one son, Charles David Matthews, both of Cumberland, Maryland; two brothers, Herschel Lowe of Calvin and G. W. Lowe of Memphis, Tenn.
