Pollard Succumbs; Burial Near Bentley, La. Green Matthew Pollard, 78, a retired foreman for the Louisiana and Arkansas Railroad, died in a Houston, Texas hospital Monday, March 29. He was a resident of Georgetown and a lifelong resident of Grant Parish. Pollard is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Torry Pollard; three sons, Stanley and Harold Pollard of Georgetown, and Donald Pollard of Shreveport; a daughter, Mrs. Hartman Sullivan, a missionary in Nigeria, West Africa; two brothers, E. C. Pollard of Pineville, and Sam Pollard of Bunkie; a sister, Mrs. R. B. Walker of Williana and four grandchildren. Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Frazier Cemetery near Bentley.
