A native of Bienville Parish, she had lived in Bossier City for 11 years. She was a beautician and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. The funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Bossier City Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home with additional services at 4 p.m. Thursday at Crothers Funeral Home in Tallulah. The Rev. Earl White, pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Survivors include a son, Jerry W. Pope of Bossier City; three sisters, Mrs. Mable Ellis and Mrs. Maudine Walden, both of Shreveport; and Mrs. Bernie Jean Clark of Bossier City; four brothers, William A. Machen of Shreveport, D. C. Machen of Bossier City, and Hershel Machen, Jr., and James Machen, both of Winnfield; and one grandson.
