Funeral Services For Baxter Porter Held Last Tuesday

Funeral services for Baxter Porter, 84 years old, who died at his home at
Corinth Monday morning at 3 o'clock were held at Corinth Tuesday afternoon
with Rev. McMurry in charge of services.  Mr. Porter although suffering with
heart trouble, for many years, was only in bed a week before death came.  He
contracted pneumonia. 

The deceased had been a resident of the Corinth Community since he was 13
years of age. He was a member of the Baptist Church and an influential citizen
of this parish.  He was the father of nine children, one of whom survived him,
being Mr. Ibzan Porter of Tullos. He is also survived by his widow and a
number of grandchildren.
