Russell D. Porter, Obit April 25, 1957, Winn Parish Enterprise

Native of Winn Buried In Baton Rouge April 19

Funeral services for Russell D. Porter, 49, native of Winnfield, who died
April 17 in a Baton Rouge hospital, were held Friday, April 19, in the Weller
Avenue Baptist Church, with the Rev. H.B. Dean officiating.  Burial was int he
Rest Haven Garden of Memory, Baton Rouge.

Mr. Porter was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. S. Porter of Winnfield, and is
the nephew of Mrs. Dosia McDade and John Porter of Winnfield.  He was a War II
veteran, an electrician, and a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife, the former Helen Hodges; one daughter, Mrs. E.F.
Barnette and a granddaughter, Baton Rouge, two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Anderson,
Monroe, Mrs. Barbara Tischer, of Chicago.

Attending the funeral from Winnfield were Mrs. Bonner Etheridge and children
and Mrs. Dosia McDade.  While in Baton Rouge they visited Mr. and Mrs. Hollie
McDade.
