K. Porter To Be Buried Here Friday Morning Mrs. Ethel McKaskel Porter of 3908 Coleridge St., Houston, Texas, died at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday at her home. A native of Winn parish, she had resided in Houston 20 years. She was a member of Rice Temple Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. W.L. Holcomb and Rev. R.H. Staples officiating. Burial will be in the Winnfield cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, H.K. Porter; a daughter, Mrs. Norvin D. Nesmith, both of Houston; foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Allen, Winnfield; sisters, Mrs. Ona Sikes, Houston, Mrs. Jack Beasley, Monroe; brother, Carey McKaskle, Monroe; one grandson. Mrs. Porter is also survived by the following aunts in Winnfield, Mrs. Eula Peavy, Mrs. W. O. Averett, and Mrs. Walter Allen, also her foster mother, and Mrs J.P. Durham of Shreveport. She was the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Perkins of Winn parish. Relatives Attend Last Rites For Mrs. H.K. Porter Here, March 30, 1961, Winn Parish Enterprise A large number of out-of-town relatives attended the last rites for Mrs. H.K. Porter, of Houston, Texas, held in Winnfield March 24 at the Southern Funeral Home, with burial in the Winnfield cemetery. Mrs. Porter died in Houston March 21. Acting as pallbearers were Welby Willis, Frank Shaw, Kelly Peterson, John T. Porter, Hezziah Porter, and Gene Porter. Sikes, Mr. and Mrs. Norwin Nesmith and son, Mrs. Dorothy Robinson of Houston, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marek of El Campo, Tex,; Mr. and Mrs. Perkin Sikes and daughter of Pasadena, Tex.; Mr. and Mrs. M.N. Ashcroft of Minden; Mrs. James Sullivan of Shreveport.
