Alton O. Porter, Winn Farmer, To Be Buried Today

Funeral services for Alton Osler Porter, 43 year old Winn parish farmer, were
scheduled this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 p.m.  He died Wednesday of a heart
attack...

Last rites were to be in the Old Union Baptist Church, with burial in Old
Union cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home.

Mr. Porter was born in Winn Parish, October 28, 1909.  He resided on
Winnfield, Route 2 about four miles from here on the Tullos highway.

Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Porter, Sr., one son, Mitchell
Porter, of Germany; one daughter, Linda Porter, of Germany; three brothers,
Harmon Porter, Winnfield, H. Porter, Jr., Winnfield, Richard R. Porter, West
Point, Miss.; five sisters, Mrs. J.L. Braud, Shreveport; Mrs. Curtis Gaspard,
Shreveport; Mrs. J.B. Wilson, Shreveport; Mrs. F.E. Sims, Monroe; Mrs. H.T.
Lovell Winnfield.
